BEGIN AGAIN...
This time, I urge myself to write down
something in this tiny wall as it will be a reminiscence of my journey over the
course of my life in this universe.
I graduated from Mataram
university in September 2013- Bachelor degree in science chemistry.
Since that time, I managed to work than pursue my master because I needed
to cope with financial problem in my daily life. Fortunately, one of my
lectures in Mathematics and Science faculty gave a chance to work as a
freelance in Research Centre and Environmental Studies, an environmental
department of Mataram University. For me, that was tremendous
opportunity to begin my career as a worker.
At first, it was really delightful because I
could keep up my standards of living with my monthly salary. On the other
hand, I felt something was wrong with the decision that I made. When most of my
classmates were grabbing their chances to get their further educations, I just
got stuck on my daily activity as a worker. Yet a moment in the edge of
December 2014 changed everything.
It’s still fresh in my mind when I stood in front of my work-desk along with all my mates. In that time, each of us began to talk and pronounce our dreams and expectations for a year to come. When it came to my turn, I spontaneously stated “I want to enhance my English proficiency to pursue my Master and Ph.D”. And I thought everyone was astounding with my statement even me, myself. Since then, while continuing my work in the office, I kept struggling, praying and waiting for the dreams come to be reality.
Time flies really fast, in beginning of 2015 I
encouraged myself to apply for ELTA (English Language Training Assistance)
supported by AAS (Australian Awards Scholarships). Unfortunately, I failed at
interview process. I had ever felt frustrated as I did not succeed it but my
surroundings – my parents, supervisor (Professor Ir. Surya Hadi, M.Sc. Ph.D),
and my mates – aided me to revive. Consequently, in March I registered to a
scholarship provided by ministry of finance, commonly known as LPDP
Scholarship. At that time, I was not an expert in spoken English, my TOEFL
score was only 477. However, it was sufficient to enrol the scholarship.
Shortly, everyone might say “Waiting was really
tedious” but with patience and the assistance of my supervisor I succeeded in
preliminary and interview process. And Now, I become an awardee of one of
prestigious scholarships funded by my own country. I certainly fell over the
moon but my journey is still half way through. You know, becoming awardee may
seem really fantastic and Grrrreeaaatttt. However, there is paramount
responsibility for me to share this feeling to all people in Indonesia,
especially the next generations.
Before stepping further ahead, I must fight for my English, here in Yogyakarta. Thus, I can communicate well in my future university with my international networking and my friends all around the world.
See you next time….
Note:
Let’s make INDONESIA to be Super Power country within religious atmosphere.
